In December of 2023, the Ohio Supreme Court suspended criminal defense attorney, Jack Blakeslee, for one year, with six months of the suspension stayed, for misconduct reflecting on his well-being to practice law. Mr. Blakeslee’s misconduct? Pooping into an empty pringles can and throwing it into the parking lot of the victim’s advocacy center before an early morning court appearance. The disciplinary counsel’s investigation revealed that Mr. Blakeslee had a habit of depositing feces into the chip container. Indeed, as noted in the ethics complaint, Mr. Blakeslee had done this about 10 times in the past “indiscriminately choosing the location where he throws the chip cans containing his feces.”
The Ohio Supreme Court has now reinstated Mr. Blakeslee to the practice of law. See Disciplinary Counsel v. Blakeslee, 2024-Ohio-2314 (June 18, 2024).
