March 2025 Discipline

These lawyers were the subject of Louisiana Supreme Court disciplinary orders of Louisiana Attorney Discipline Board recommendations published during the month of January 2025.

Louisiana Supreme Court

  1. Ryan P. Gregoire. The Court granted the petition for interim suspension and suspended the respondent from the practice of law on an interim basis.
  2. Timothy French Upton. The Court granted the petition to revoke probation and for interim suspension filed by the ODC.

LADB Hearing Committees.

  1. David Belfield, III. Hearing Committee # 45 recommended that the respondent be suspended from the practice of law for one year and one day. The respondent accepted fees from multiple clients (Carlas Rayford, Terri Van Buren, Alvin Anthony Joseph, and Terrence Charles Williams, Jr.), then failed to diligently represent them by missing court appearances, failing to file necessary documents, neglecting to communicate with them despite numerous attempts to reach him, refused to return unearned fees after termination, and consistently failed to cooperate with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel’s investigations despite multiple opportunities to do so. In doing so, the respondent violated Rules 1.3, 1.4, 1.5(f)(5), and 8.1(c).
