Louisiana Supreme Court
- Lindsey J. Leavoy. The Court granted the Petition for Interim Suspension for Threat of Harm filed by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
- Walter Curtis Melnick. The Court granted the Joint Petition for Interim Suspension filed by the respondent and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
- Shane Austin Jordan. The Court granted the Joint Petition for Transfer to Disability Inactive Status.
LADB Hearing Committees.
- Jamar Brooks Akai Myers-Montgomery. Hearing Committee #29 recommended that the petitioner’s application for readmission to the practice of law be denied.
- Laura J. Johnson. Hearing Committee #3 recommended that the respondent be permanently disbarred from the practice of law. The Court previously disbarred the respondent for dishonest and deceptive conduct. The respondent then engaged in the unauthorized practice of law while disbarred. In doing so, the respondent violated Rules 1.16(a)(1), 5.5(a), 8.1(c), and 8.4(a)(b)(c)(d).
