Louisiana State SealThese lawyers were the subject of Louisiana Supreme Court disciplinary orders or Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board recommendations that were made public during the month of August 2015.

Louisiana Supreme Court

  1. Andre T. Haydel. The court ordered that the respondent be reinstated to active status pursuant to Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 22(G), subject to the condition that he must adhere to the terms of his June 18, 2014 recovery agreement with the Lawyers Assistance Program.

Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board

  1. Olita Magee Domingue. The board recommended that the respondent be suspended from the practice of law for one year and one day with six months deferred, subject to one year of probation. The respondent failed to refund the unearned portion of a fee, and she commingled client funds.
  2. Keisha M. Jones-Joseph. The board recommended that the time period in which the respondent can apply for readmission to the bar be extended by five years. The respondent, who has a disciplinary history involving similar misconduct, failed to communicate with her clients, failed to conduct any work on their legal matters, and failed to return unearned fees.
  3. Walter C. Dumas. The board recommended that the respondent be suspended from the practice of law for one year with six months deferred, subject to a two-year period of supervised probation. The respondent, who has a disciplinary history involving similar  misconduct, engaged in a pattern of negligent mismanagement of his trust account.
  4. Randall J. Cashio. The board recommended that the respondent be publicly reprimanded. The respondent violated Rule 3.1 regarding meritorious claims and contentions by bringing a defamation claim against the person who filed a disciplinary complaint against him.

Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board Hearing Committees

  1. Julie Ann Fusilier. Hearing Committee No. 52 recommended that the respondent be suspended from the practice of law for a year and a day. The respondent was arrested for felony theft and burglary of her ex-husband’s dwelling. She stole a Rolex and diamond ring, sold the items, and then gambled away the proceeds.
  2. Katherine M. Guste. Hearing Committee No. 55 recommended that the respondent be suspended from the practice of law for three years. The respondent, who was suspended from the practice of law before completing a client’s matter, failed to submit a detailed accounting to the client, failed to return an unearned fee, and failed to return the client’s file.
  3. Janinne Latrell Gilbert. Hearing Committee No. 22 recommended that the respondent be disbarred. The respondent failed to communicate with multiple clients, failed to return unearned fees, and failed to cooperate with the ODC.
